Recyclable shipping materials —
All materials that I use to ship products to you are recyclable. Please please help loon do all we can to lessen our impact on the planet.

  • Boxes are cardboard and can either be reused or put directly into the recycling.

  • The tape used is paper based and can be recycled. This means that you can just break the box down and put it in the recycling. No need to remove the tape, like you do with plastic packing tape.

  • All packing materials are made of paper and can be reused or recycled.

What to do with broken pieces
Don’t throw it in the trash! No need to add to the landfill when you crack a pot. Here are some ideas of what to do if you have broken pottery

Cracked pots:

  • Use food-safe epoxy to put it back together and keep using it. Pro tip: If you mix mica power or gold-leaf into it, you can turn the crack/chip into a beautiful accent. This is a cheap and easy(ish) version of a classical Japanese practice called kintsugi (look up YouTube videos, it is a fun project).

  • Use it as a planter. Put it on a drip tray and put a plant in it.

  • Use it as an art object. You could superglue or epoxy it and put it on a shelf and keep it in your life. I have a few pieces in my house that no longer are usable but live on a bookshelf mixed in with other pieces.

Broken pieces that were never used for food/drink:

  • Just epoxy them! There are some epoxies that are strong enough to hold a planter, a candleholder, or a jar together — keeping those pieces in use for years to come.

  • Keep them as art objects.
